So if you've ever met me, you probably know that I hiccup all the time. Mostly they're just single hiccups, but they come more and more frequently until I finally get an attack of the hiccups that can last 5 minutes or come and go for two days. (It's not so bad -- when I was a junior in high school and we were all Big Sibs for 7th and 8th grade classes, someone's little sib had to be hospitalized because she hadn't stopped hiccuping for a week. Mindy, was she yours?)

Over the past year, I've realized that the hiccups must be stress-related in some way because I usually get one of these attacks the day before, of, or after an exam. And so as you would expect, the days up to the exam I get a hiccup increasingly often.

Now I've got the exam of all exams coming up in just two days. I hiccup about every hour, and really loud. I got a mini attack a few days ago, but they didn't go away after that. I'm not super worried about getting an attack during the exam, but I know I will at least hiccup a few times. Usually I don't try to hold them in because that's kind of painful and it usually doesn't matter. I promise I will try during the exam, but sometimes they catch me by surprise. Anyway, I just wanted to apologize in advance to anyone who is in the same room as I am on Wednesday.

You've got to admit that sometimes they're funny. If not to you. You are falling apart though, aren't you?
